Architect
Joy in my work is derived from being able to exercise considerations in creating a sense of home and belonging to a multitude of demographics across New Zealand. I love the challenge of creating beautiful yet practical solutions to problems which can improve people’s lives. Enriched by studies and practicing both here in New Zealand and abroad in Munich, Germany, I have had experience across a range of project types and budgets. This varied experience has played a pivotal role in refining my design sensibilities, interpersonal skills, and technical expertise with the focus of articulating the construct of a home; a place of comfort, security, privacy, conversation, celebration, growth and development. Home is not only a space for physical living, but a notion that holds various other associations; emotional, biological, cultural and societal.
Ri Williamson is an experienced Designer, holding a Master of Architecture from the University of Auckland. She has worked on a diverse range of projects, from very bespoke design projects to large-scale public sector healthcare and social housing developments. Ri is known for her creative edge, strong project coordination skills, and ability to balance design vision with practical considerations such as budget and buildability while always aiming to exceed client expectations. She has a solid understanding of New Zealand planning and building requirements, RMA, District Plans and the New Zealand Building Code. Ri enjoys collaboration with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders. Driven by a passion for innovation, Ri is particularly interested in using design and technology to improve outcomes within the built environment.
Interior Designer
The reality is that every Interior and Project is unique and different and that’s what I love about being a part of working with the team at RBA Studios. I have worked with the company for over 6 years now seeing it grow and change in many great ways. Developing new ideas all the time researching product and trying new things.I create interiors that feel comfortable, stylish, sophisticated yet relaxing. Interiors that reflect your individuality
making you feel truly at home.We build a great relation together on this journey starting with an initial meeting discussing your thoughts and ideas as this is not my home its yours. We establish your exterior colours first and then work through to interiors with designing all joinery and having fun along the way. We need to get to know each other very quickly and begin our journey. I believe in giving you help about your spaces adding colour and texture where necessary to enhance your vison. A home is to have soul and feeling not just bricks and mortier as the saying goes.
